State Guard’s 1st Battalion serves several counties in central South Carolina – and provides assistance when requested to all counties statewide – fulfilling the State Guard’s mission of acting as early responders by providing immediate boots on the ground with ability to sustain operations for 48 hours.

2nd Battalion

State Guard’s 2nd Battalion serves several counties in the upstate of South Carolina – and provides assistance when requested to all counties statewide – fulfilling the State Guard’s mission of acting as early responders by providing immediate boots on the ground with ability to sustain operations for 48 hours.

3rd Battalion

“Lowcountry”

The S.C. State Guard’s 3rd Battalion serves several counties in the South Carolina low- country and and provides assistance when requested to all counties statewide – fulfilling the State Guard’s mission of acting as early responders by providing immediate boots on the ground with ability to sustain operations for 48 hours.

The 3rd Battalion has contributed thousands of hours annually, preparing for – and responding to when necessary – natural or man- made disasters, and generally lending a helping hand when it is needed. Over the last 3 years, the Historic South Carolina State Guard has provided our state in excess of 44,000 hours of professional services during Hurricanes Joaquin, Irma, and Matthew.
