Great Falls, SC:  South Carolina State Guard 1st Battalion personnel on hand to lend a helping hand for the ‘Sound The Alarm’ Smoke Detector inspection / replacement program in Great Falls, SC this past Saturday.  The team-up between the American Red Cross, State Guard, South Carolina State Fire, and Great Falls Fire Department, Great Falls, SC  included visits to more than 40 homes in Chester County and included the install of over 200 smoke detectors and an one “shake alarm.”

Residents pre-registered to have their alarms inspected and were visited by teams who inspected the alarms, replaced batteries, and installed brand new smoke detectors.  The alarms were provided by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.  Seven more install programs across South Carolina are currently being planned by South Carolina State Fire.
