Charleston, SC ~ It was day of honors and promotions at at the 3rd Battalion drill in Charleston this past weekend as several unit members were recognized for their extraordinary contributions to the South Carolina State Guard.
1SG Thomas Kime was promoted to SGM and was awarded an Individual Achievement Ribbon for his contribution to The Cooper Bridge Run in April 2018.
SSG Gerald Galbraith received a Commendation Medal for outstanding leadership abilities during battalion operations for the year 2017 as well as an Individual Achievement Ribbon for his work with the The Cooper Bridge Run.
CPT Phyliss Sheffer was awarded an Individual Achievement Ribbon for her efforts with The Cooper Bridge Run as well as three individual decorations/awards: The Service Ribbon, Military Readiness Ribbon, and Military Proficiency Ribbon.
2LT William Boyd received The Humanitarian Service Ribbon for hos work with the October 2017 National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) Exercise which provided assistance relief to medical evacuees from The Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
SSG George Post was promoted to SFC.
CSM James Guest received an Individual Achievement Ribbon for his work with The Cooper Bridge Run.
