SCSG Trains at National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) evacuation exercise in Greenville

The Annual National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) evacuation exercise was held May 7-9 at the GSP International Airport in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of South Carolina.

Several hundred volunteers and personnel from more than a dozen agencies, including the S.C. State Guard, the National Guard, the Upstate Incident Management Team, and local first responders and law enforcement were on hand. Nearly 40 SCSG personnel from the Medical Detachment under the command of COL Carl Kinard, and the 2nd Brigade commanded by LTC Richard Patton, as well as members of the Strike Team participated at the exercise. More than 100 simulated casualties were transported via aircraft to the airport which included a C-17 Globemaster.
